We’re often asked about our company’s name—at its simplest, the name reminds us of our ultimate goal: “Six Red Marbles” sounds fun and bright and full of the excitement of youth. That joy is exactly what we aim to bring to learning today: “FUN IDEAS. SERIOUS SOLUTIONS.
Today’s Six Red Marbles is the result of a 2008 merger of two well-respected firms in educational publishing and technology: Six Red Marbles of Cambridge, MA, and Monotype of Baltimore, MD. The combination of Six Red Marbles' innovative approach to content and technology with Monotype's widely recognized page composition expertise and experienced, progressive editorial staff made the new Six Red Marbles a forward-thinking, no-boundary company, ready to deliver education to all markets and all platforms.
